HS Softball: Blue Mtn. knocks off Emmaus

EMMAUS — Emily Leonard pitched a complete game and her offense backed her with 11 hits as Blue Mountain defeated Class 6A Emmaus 5-2 on Friday in a non-league game.
Leonard allowed seven hits and two runs (one earned), striking out five and walking none.
Tied 1-1 in the fifth, Hailey Place and Aryana Reilly delivered RBI singles to put the Eagles ahead to stay. Place finished 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI.


Avery Hudock went 2-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI while Addyson Fishburn went 2-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored for Blue Mountain. Anna Borden added a 2-for-3 day with a run scored.

LANSFORD — Paige Goida pitched a no-hitter as Panther Valley opened its season with a non-league win over Lincoln Leadership Academy.
Goida struck out 13 and walked one in the five-inning game.
Danika Blazosky sparked the offense by going 2-for-3 with a triple, two runs scored and one RBI. Janessa Prudente tripled and scored a run for the Panthers. Isabella D’Ancona and Brooklyn Mika both doubled and had an RBI.

Rain halts Dawgs, Tide
POTTSVILLE — Tri-Valley and Pottsville played two full innings before rain forced the non-league game at the CACL Complex to be suspended.
Tri-Valley took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning when Myah Schwalm laced a two-run double down the left-field line.
Pottsville got one run back in the bottom of the first when Jes Siminitus scored on Cadence Borger’s sacrifice fly.
The game will resume in the top of the third inning at a date and time to be announced.
