HS Boys’ Track: Eagles, Hurricanes remain unbeaten with dual-meet wins

Blue Mountain, Schuylkill Haven, Pottsville, North Schuylkill score wins
PINE GROVE — Rafael Liranzo won three events and Chase Guers added two as Blue Mountain remained unbeaten in Schuylkill League Division I play with a 107-29 boys’ track victory over Pine Grove on Tuesday at Cardinal Stadium.
Liranzo swept the hurdles and won the high jump, while Guers took first in the 100 and 400 for Blue Mountain (3-1, 3-0 D-I). Guers’ time of 49.41 seconds broke the Blue Mountain school record in that event, previously held by Cole Swick.

Dru Herber was a double-winner for Pine Grove (1-3, 0-3), winning the 1600 and 3200.

MINERSVILLE — Shay Strencosky, Colin McGinley and Donovann Durham each won two events as the Crimson Tide ran past the Miners in a Schuylkill League Division I dual meet.
Strencosky won the 100 and 200; McGinley captured the 400 and 800; and Durham swept the hurdles as Pottsville (2-1, 2-1) dominated the track events.
Chase Zimerofsky (long jump, triple jump) was a double-winner for the Miners (2-2, 1-2).

SCHUYLKILL HAVEN — Colton Reber, Jack Krammes and Ethan Kline each won twice as the Hurricanes took first in every event en route to a Schuylkill League Division II win over the Panthers.
Reber won the 100 and 200; Krammes swept the hurdles; and Kline took first in the shot put and discus as Schuylkill Haven (4-0, 4-0 D-II) set up a first-place showdown with Mahanoy Area (4-0, 4-0) for the Division II title next Tuesday at Rotary Field.

TAMAQUA — The Spartans swept a pair of sprints and won two relays en route to a Schuylkill League Division I win over the Blue Raiders.
Caden Mengel (100), Luke Miller (200) and Cameron Kacilowicz (400) won sprints for North Schuylkill (3-1, 2-1 D-I), helping the Spartans outscore Tamaqua 26-1 in those three events.
The teams split the 18 events 9-9. Aidan Elston won the 800 and 1600 for the Blue Raiders (1-2, 1-2).

Green Wave dominate Division II quad meet
POTTSVILLE — Shane Meyer won three distance events and ran on a winning relay as Nativity dominated a Division II quad meet held at Pottsville’s Veterans Memorial Stadium.
Nativity only scored against Shenandoah Valley, winning 121-18. Marian won two contests, beating Weatherly 82.66-39.33 and Shenandoah Valley 64-49. Shenandoah Valley topped Weatherly 67-38.
Meyer took first in the 800, 1600 and 3200. Robert McDonald captured the 100 and 200 and Sean Kramer swept the hurdles as Nativity (2-1, 2-1 D-II) won all eight track events and swept the relays.
Jacob Tom was a double-winner for Marian (2-1, 2-1), winning the long jump and triple jump, while Bryan Chagolla won the discus for Shenandoah Valley (1-4, 1-4).
