HS Boys’ Tennis: Eagles’ Burcik makes D-11 singles semifinals

HELLERTOWN — Blue Mountain’s Evan Burcik won a pair of matches Monday to reach the semifinals of the District 11 Class AA Singles Tournament at Saucon Valley High School.

The third-seeded Burcik opened with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Levi Johnson of Palmerton. In the quarterfinals, Burcik routed Notre Dame-Green Pond’s Nico Guet Cruza, 6-2, 6-1.

Burcik will play No. 2 seed Tommy Spinosa of Allentown Central Catholic in Wednesday’s semifinals.

In the first round, No. 7 seed Leonard Anthony of Moravian Academy defeated Blue Mountain’s Elias Eichert 6-0, 7-5.
