We’ll know a lot more by Tuesday evening.

That’s after the top two teams in the T102 Sports Now Super 7 Softball Poll — No. 1 Pine Grove Area and No. 2 Blue Mountain — clash in a Schuylkill League Division I showdown to determine the division crown. And that’s after No. 5 Tri-Valley visits No. 4 Williams Valley for a rivalry game that will go a long way toward deciding the Division II title. Both games will be broadcast live on WPPA/A-106, the Dawgs and Vikings at 4:30 p.m. and the Eagles and Cardinals at 7 p.m.

We expected those four teams to go round and round for division supremacy, and so far those games have not disappointed. Pine Grove Area won at Blue Mountain 5-3 in eight innings April 14, while Williams Valley outslugged Tri-Valley 10-7 on April 7 in Hegins.

Schuylkill League athletic directors did a great job frontloading the schedule this week in an attempt to beat heavy rain expected for mid-week. That created a loaded slate both Monday and Tuesday, so much of the playoff picture will be sorted out. Stay tuned to t102sportsnow.com for results and updated standings.

This is the last week of the regular season, with the league playoffs slated to begin next week at Blue Mountain’s Patton Field. The quarterfinals will get under way Monday, May 11, with the semifinals Tuesday, May 12, and the championship game Thursday, May 14. The league will determine the times and matchups later this week.

The T102 Sports Now Super 7 Softball Poll normally appears each Monday during the regular season.
