Minersville (17-3) jumps to the No.1 spot in the T102 Sports Now Super 7 Boys’ Basketball Poll after a clean week with a loaded scoring differential. The Battlin’ Miners earned three wins this past week and outscored their opponents 234-129.

Pottsville (15-6) falls back to the No. 2 position after getting stunned at the buzzer in a 59-58 loss to Pine Grove on Tuesday but bouncing back with a narrow victory over No. 3 Mahanoy Area (19-2) on Friday. The Golden Bears knocked off Tamaqua 55-44 to begin the week before falling to the Crimson Tide in a wire-to-wire defensive contest that served as an appetizer for the Schuylkill League playoffs.

Nativity, Tri-Valley, Weatherly and Blue Mountain still hold their respective spots in the poll. The No. 4 Hilltoppers (13-7) continued to build momentum toward the league playoffs by adding three consecutive wins, clinching the Schuylkill League Division II title and subsequently earning a bye through the quarterfinal round of the league playoffs. The No. 5 Dawgs (15-5) and No. 6 Wreckers (12-8) squared off in their final league matchup of the season this past Thursday, where Tri-Valley defeated Weatherly 70-52. Both squads have clinched league playoff berths.

The Eagles (12-8) round out the pack as they continued their winning streak of late. Blue Mountain added two more wins to increase its consecutive win streak to five games and clinch a District 11 Class 5A playoff berth. The Eagles host Mahanoy Area this Tuesday for both teams final regular season league games of the year.
