JIM THORPE — At the final invitational before next week’s league meet, some of the Schuylkill League’s best track and field athletes showed they’re ready for the postseason.
Nativity’s Noah Dolbin won three events and North Schuylkill’s Luke Miller took both sprints at Thursday’s Jim Thorpe Invitational at Olympian Stadium.
Dolbin swept the hurdles and won the long jump, while Miller was the fastest in the 100- and 200-meter dashes.

Also on the boys’ side, Nativity’s Nolan Daynorowicz (800), Pottsville’s Cullen Clarke (3200) and Nativity (3200 relay) took gold.
Two of the area’s top girls’ performers, Pottsville’s Alexa Giuffre and Blue Mountain’s Makayla Keck, both captured field events. Giuffre was first in the long jump, while Keck had the best throw in the javelin.
Other local girls’ winners included Nativity’s Sara Spolski (100), Blue Mountain’s Gianna Chipriano (800) and Kamryn Moran (pole vault) and Pottsville’s Riley Davis (100 hurdles).
Nine Schuylkill League teams — Blue Mountain, Mahanoy Area, Marian, Nativity, North Schuylkill, Panther Valley, Pottsville, Schuylkill Haven, Shenandoah Valley — competed at the 26-team invitational.
The Schuylkill League Track and Field Championships are set for Tuesday-Wednesday, May 6-7, at Mahanoy Area’s Alumni Stadium.
