POTTSVILLE — Peyton Eckert pitched a one-hit shutout to lead Pottsville past Panther Valley 10-0 in five innings Friday in a Schuylkill League Division I softball game at the CACL Complex.

Eckert struck out three, walked one and got error-free defense behind her.

Reese Ketner doubled and knocked in two runs for the Crimson Tide, while Jo Barnhart had a double and two runs scored.

Pottsville next will compete in the District 11 Class 5A playoffs. The fourth-seeded Tide (11-9) will host No. 5 Bangor (9-12) in a quarterfinal game Wednesday at the CACL Complex. The game time has yet to be announced.
