Williams Valley's Sage Smeltz boots an extra point during the Vikings' 28-13 win over Schuylkill Haven in the District 11 Class AA championship game at Blue Mountain's Eagles' Nest. (Photo by Charlie Roth).

She kicks extra points and field goals on Friday nights in the fall.

She makes saves in goal night after night on the soccer pitch.

She scores her 1,000th point, grabs rebounds and leads the girls’ basketball team on a journey to the state quarterfinals.

She pitches a no-hitter against Halifax in the state playoffs, slugs homers, drives in tons of runs and etches her name all over the school record book to lead the softball team to the state semifinals.

She’s also risen to the top of her class, so much so that she became the first female football Scholar Athlete in the history of the Schuylkill Chapter No. 25 of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame.

She even plays the role of the priest in the school musical rendition of “Mamma Mia!”.
