HS Girls’ Volleyball: Panther Valley outlasts Blue Mountain in Division I battle

Panther Valley 3, Blue Mountain 1
ORWIGSBURG — Morgan Orsulak racked up 26 kills, 13 assists, five aces, four digs and two blocks to lead Panther Valley past Blue Mountain 21-25, 25-21, 25-20, 25-22 in a Schuylkill League Division I clash Thursday evening.
JaeLynn Browdy added nine kills, 24 assists, four aces and three digs for the Panthers (5-0, 4-0 D-I). Caroline Breslin contributed seven kills and 12 digs, while Danika Blazosky notched six kills and 11 digs.
For Blue Mountain (3-2, 2-2), Jaedyn Bartholomew had 15 kills, 19 digs and four blocks; Alexa Marshall added 10 kills, five aces and 14 digs; Bella Grasso made 36 assists and 12 digs; and Tess Krasnay chipped in 24 digs and two assists.
Panther Valley won JV 2-0.
Marian 3, Williams Valley 0
TOWER CITY — Alena Lombardo had 12 kills and Isabella Horvat added 10 digs and two aces as Marian topped Williams Valley 25-11, 25-16, 25-15 in a Division II match.
Also for the Fillies (3-1, 3-1 D-II), Maddy Davis had two kills, two aces and seven digs; and Lara Cancio made eight kills.
For Williams Valley (3-1, 3-1), Emma Reinoehl compiled five assists and nine digs; Emily Miller tallied three service points and nine digs; and Gabrielle Duprez notched two kills and nine digs.
Marian won JV 2-0.
Pottsville 3, Mahanoy Area 0
POTTSVILLE — Rhyan Brennan racked up eight digs, three aces, eight kills and three blocks to lead Pottsville to a 25-6, 25-18, 25-17 victory over Mahanoy Area in a Division I match.
Anna Burke added 11 kills and eight blocks, while Olivia Pacovsky chipped in two digs, three aces and two kills for the Crimson Tide (4-2, 4-0 D-I).
Mahanoy Area (2-3, 1-3 varsity) won JV 2-1.
Shenandoah Valley 3, Minersville 0
MINERSVILLE — Ava Antz had 10 service points, seven kills and seven aces to lift Shenandoah Valley over Minersville 25-6, 25-16, 25-16 in Division II action.
Brittany Tufts notched 12 assists, 12 service points and four aces, while Danna Chagolla contributed six kills, five aces and six service points for the Blue Devils (2-4, 1-3 D-II).
For Minersville (1-4, 1-3), Arianna John had three aces, four kills and two blocks; Caty Ilsley tallied eight kills and two digs; and Bella Cruz chipped in seven assists and six digs.
Minersville won JV 2-1.
Nativity 3, Schuylkill Haven 0
SCHUYLKILL HAVEN — Behind Morgan Howell’s 15 aces, Nativity swept Schuylkill Haven 25-9, 25-12, 25-10 in a Division II match.
Finley McNamara added 13 kills and three aces, while Addison Richard tallied 18 assists and five aces for Nativity (2-3, 2-2 D-II).
For the Hurricanes (2-2, 2-2), Makayla Koller had two aces and eight digs; Lydia Hartz chipped in five assists and five digs; and Hannah Nelson added two kills, three digs and two blocks.
Nativity won JV 2-0.
North Schuylkill 3, Lourdes 0
SHAMOKIN — Bella Hudick had six aces, seven digs and two kills for Lourdes, but the Red Raiders fell to North Schuylkill 25-22, 25-18, 25-12 in Division I action.
Margo Yablonski added five aces, three assists and four digs, while Maddie Westland made three blocks for the Red Raiders (1-6, 0-4 D-I).
North Schuylkill won JV 2-0.
Tri-Valley 3, Weatherly 0
WEATHERLY — Callie Melocheck compiled 18 assists, 13 service points and seven aces to spark Tri-Valley past Weatherly 25-9, 25-12, 25-11 in a Division II match.
Aubrianna Zimmerman added six aces, two kills and seven service points, while Faith Melocheck notched six aces, six kills and four digs for the Bulldogs (4-0, 4-0 D-II).
Kelly Reiner had six digs; Abby Weston chipped in two points and three blocks; and Jillian Russell tallied two points and three digs for Weatherly (0-5, 0-4 D-II).
Tri-Valley won JV 2-0.
Pine Grove 3, Tamaqua 0
TAMAQUA — Lily Flynn had eight kills, three aces and three blocks as Pine Grove defeated Tamaqua 25-14, 25-10, 25-16 in a Division I match.
Molly Drumheller added six digs, two assists and two aces, while Payton Harris tallied five kills, nine assists and two aces for the Cardinals (3-1, 3-1 D-I).
For Tamaqua (3-3, 1-3 D-I), Millie Black had eight digs and five kills; Kelsey Lusch added five digs, two assists and two aces; Madison Schock contributed four digs, three assists and two kills; Leah Black had three kills and seven digs; and Kendle Miller made four digs.
