HS Golf: Schuylkill Haven completes field for Schuylkill League team championships

The field for the Schuylkill League Golf Team Championships is set.
Schuylkill Haven captured the final berth in the four-team playoff with a pair of Division II victories Monday over Minersville and Pine Grove at Schuylkill Country Club.
Alan Evans led the way for the Hurricanes with a 2-under-par 70, while Eli Barton shot an 80. Emma Troutman paced the Miners with an 82, while Austin Frantz had the low score for Pine Grove with a 92.
The victories leave Schuylkill Haven at 10-1 in league play with one match left today against Marian. Nativity (9-1) had already clinched the other berth from Division II by virtue of its two victories over third-place Marian (7-3).
In Division I, Blue Mountain and Pottsville have clinched the two league playoff berths.
Monday, Blue Mountain improved to 8-1 in league play with a 304-369 victory over Panther Valley. Pottsville upped its league mark to 7-2 by edging North Schuylkill on a tiebreaker hole after the teams tied at 348-348.
The Schuylkill League golf regular season wraps up this week. The Schuylkill League Golf Individual Championships are slated for Monday, Sept. 15, at Schuylkill Country Club. Blue Mountain, Pottsville, Schuylkill Haven and Nativity will then compete in the Schuylkill League Golf Team Championships the following day, Tuesday, Sept. 16, at Hidden Valley Golf Course.
