PIAA Girls’ Volleyball: Tri-Valley learns semifinal site
MECHANICSBURG — Tri-Valley’s girls’ volleyball team will have another long road trip — and possibly another wait — when the PIAA Volleyball Championships resume Tuesday across the state.
The District 11 champion Bulldogs advanced to the Class A semifinals with a 25-13, 25-15, 25-17 thumping of Faith Christian on Saturday in a quarterfinal at Exeter Township High School.
Next up for the Dawgs (23-1) is District 3 champion Linville Hill (22-0), with the winner going to the championship match. Semifinal match time is 7 p.m. Tuesday at Cocalico High School, Denver.
Linville Hill advanced with a 25-17, 25-14, 25-16 rout of District 4 champion Sayre.
Tri-Valley will play in the second match of a doubleheader at Cocalico. Lansdale Catholic and Delone Catholic will square off in a Class AA semifinal at 5 p.m. at Cocalico.
The Dawgs faced a similar situation Saturday at Exeter. They played in the third match of a tripleheader. The listed start time was 5 p.m., but the match started about an hour late due to the length of the previous two matches.
The Tri-Valley/Linville Hill winner will play in the PIAA Class A championship match at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, at Cumberland Valley High School, Mechanicsburg.
District 7 champion Eden Christian (18-4) will face District 10 champion Maplewood (21-2) in the other Class A semifinal at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Grove City High School.
