HS Boys’ Wrestling: North Schuylkill pins Pottsville, clinches Division I title

POTTSVILLE — What a week it has been for the North Schuylkill boys’ wrestling team.
First, the Spartans captured the team title at the Schuylkill League Wrestling Championships last Saturday at Martz Hall. Now, North Schuylkill clinched the Schuylkill League Division I dual-meet crown, rolling past Pottsville 59-11 on Wednesday night back at Martz Hall.
The dual title is the 25th all-time for the Spartans (15-2, 4-0 D-I). For the second straight season, North Schuylkill swept both the tournament and Division I crowns.
Gaige Mentusky (107), Noah Leib (133), Bryce Kile (160), Cadyn McGraw (215) and William Wysoski (285) posted falls for North Schuylkill. Bode Gates (145) won by technical fall, while Alex Deritis (127) and Ben Carr (172) added victories by decision.
For Pottsville (6-12, 2-2), Terrell McFarland (189) had a pin, and Cole Cook (114) added a technical fall.
