Schuylkill League history: Spartans are in the Schuylkill League title game for the sixth straight year, going 3-2 over the past five years. North Schuylkill won the title in 2020, 2021 and 2023 and lost in the finals in 2022 and last year. Overall, this is North Schuylkill’s 27^th Schuylkill League playoff appearance. Has won league-high 17 Schuylkill League championships (1986, ’87, ’88, ’90, ’91, ’92, ’93, ’94, ’95, ’96, 2001, 2002, 2007, 2015, 2020, 2021, 2023) and was the league runner-up four times (2000, 2018, 2022, 2024). Lost in last year’s championship game to Blue Mountain 30-19.

Game Breakdown

North Schuylkill swept the season series with Schuylkill Haven, winning 58-37 on Jan. 7 in Schuylkill Haven and 65-57 in overtime Jan. 30 in Fountain Springs. … In the last meeting, Haven scored the last seven points of regulation to force overtime, then led by three in OT before North Schuylkill ripped off the game’s final 11 points. Freshman Selgrade was key with five points in that spurt. … Both teams are coming off emotional wins in semifinals, with Kane’s runner in final seconds being shot of girls’ tournament so far. Must carry that energy and emotion into tonight’s final. … Both teams live off their pressure defense, looking to force turnovers and score points in transition. Ballhandling will be criticial, as this could be a fast-paced game. Two big keys — rebounding and outside shooting. The team that does those two things better will win the game.
