HS Softball: Tide’s bats key win over Wyomissing

WYOMISSING — Peyton Eckert had a big day in the circle and at the plate to lead Pottsville past Wyomissing 9-3 on Monday in a non-league softball game.
Eckert pitched a complete game, allowing one earned run, striking out seven and walking two. At bat, she went 2-for-4 with a double, a triple and two RBIs.

Reese Ketner went 4-for-4 with a double and three runs scored for the Crimson Tide. Izzy Kunstek added a 2-for-4 day with two RBIs and a run scored for Pottsville, which put the game away with a four-run seventh inning.

ELIZABETHVILLE — Liv Hand hurled a three-hit shutout as Williams Valley cruised past Upper Dauphin in a non-league game. Hand struck out six and walked one.


The Vikings used UDA errors to score 10 runs in the second inning. Ella Kobularik singled and knocked in two runs, while Delaney Bixler went 2-for-4 with a run scored for Williams Valley.
Kamri Koppenhaver and Mallory Mace had a double, two runs and an RBI apiece.

LANSFORD — Janessa Prudente and Kathryn Breslin combined on a one-hit shutout for Panther Valley in a non-league win over Executive Education. Prudente pitched two innings, striking out five and walking none.
Isabella D’Ancona and Jovie Breiner powered the offense. D’Ancona went 2-for-2 with a double, four RBIs and two runs scored. Breiner went 2-for-2 with a pair of triples, three RBIs and two runs scored.

Other top hitters for the Panthers included Danika Blazosky, 2-for-3, a double, three runs and two RBIs; Ava Alabovitz, 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI; and Megan O’Brien, 2-for-2 with a double, two runs and one RBI.

Naomi Knitter went 2-for-3 with a run scored for the Blue Raiders.
Mackenzie Hoover and Brianna Mengel homered for the Hawks. Mengel finished with four RBIs. Norah Davey went 2-for-3 with a triple, four runs scored and two RBIs.
Winning pitcher Ava Epting went the distance and struck out 16.
