We’ll know more by Tuesday evening.
That’s after the top two teams in the T102 Sports Now Super 7 Softball Poll clash in a Schuylkill League Division I showdown to wrap up the first round of league play.
At 4 p.m. Tuesday at Patton Field, No. 1 Blue Mountain (10-0) will host No. 2 Pine Grove Area (9-1) in a first-place battle. So far, Blue Mountain has defeated No. 3 North Schuylkill 4-1, while Pine Grove dropped a 6-4 decision to the Spartans.
We expected these three teams to go round and round for division supremacy, and so far those games have not disappointed.
Behind the big three from Division I, Williams Valley holds steady at No. 4, followed by Minersville at No. 5. Tamaqua, a new entrant this week, ranks No. 6, with Tri-Valley coming in at No. 7. The Vikings defeated Tri-Valley and Minersville last week to open a two-game lead in the Division II standings. There’s a logjam behind the Vikings for the other two league playoff spots.
The T102 Sports Now Super 7 Softball Poll normally appears each Monday during the regular season.
