SCHUYLKILL HAVEN — Anna Schaeffer’s forte is distance running.

Tuesday, the Schuylkill Haven senior added some sprints to her repertoire. The result was a Schuylkill League Division II championship for the Hurricanes.

Schaeffer placed first in four running events as Schuylkill Haven downed Marian 82-59 in a Division II battle of unbeatens. The senior star won the 100, 400, 1600 and 3200 as the Hurricanes (6-0, 6-0 D-II) won seven of eight track events and a pair of relays.

Isabella Hughes swept the hurdles, Karlee Feger took first in the discus and javelin and Alea Porter (800) and Bella Murphy (triple jump) scored victories.

Alizabeth Pikitus (200), Kali Grochowski (high jump), Gabby Osenbach (long jump) and Olivia Thomas (shot put) won events for the Fillies (4-1, 4-1).

ORWIGSBURG — The Eagles wrapped up an unbeaten Division I slate and captured the division crown with an easy win over the Miners.

Vanessa Frasnelli (1600, 3200), Evangelina Fisher (300 hurdles, high jump) and Makayla Keck (shot put, javelin) each won twice for Blue Mountain (6-0, 5-0 D-I), which swept the relays and won 14 of 18 events.

Maggie Hoffman-Long won three times for Minersville (4-3, 2-3), taking first in the 100, long jump and triple jump. Alyssa Cook captured the pole vault.

FOUNTAIN SPRINGS — Fanelli, Evans & Patel T102 Sports Now Athlete of the Week Alexa Giuffre maintained her dominant ways, taking first in three individual events and running a leg on a winning relay to power the Crimson Tide to a Division I win over the Spartans.

Giuffre swept the hurdles and won the long jump for Pottsville (3-3, 3-2 D-I), then helped the Tide win the 1600 relay. Ashley Gould was a double winner, taking top honors in the shot put and discus.

Myla Fegley, Tegan Hart, Niylena Wyroski, Rhyan Brennan and Lainey Dusel added victories for the Tide. Atera Young, Molly Frantz, Lauren Powis and Mackenzie Lavas notched wins for North Schuylkill (3-3, 1-3).
