HS Soccer: Tri-Valley boys cruise past Weatherly

HEGINS — Nathan Hillard had six goals and one assist to lead Tri-Valley past Weatherly on Tuesday in a Schuylkill League Division II boys’ soccer match.
Cooper Barry added two goals and one assist, while Cash Lucas netted two goals as Tri-Valley led 9-0 at halftime. Garett Leitzel had one goal and six assists for the Bulldogs (3-1, 2-0 D-II).
Brayden Leese and Gavin Ballay combined on the shutout in goal. They didn’t need to make a save. Noah Mayernick made 23 saves for Weatherly (0-3, 0-2).
Shenandoah Valley 8, Williams Valley 2
WILLIAMSTOWN — Armando Porfirio compiled three goals and one assist as Shenandoah Valley defeated Williams Valley in a Division II match.
Anders Ryon added two goals and one assist for the Blue Devils (3-3, 2-1 D-II), who led 4-0 at halftime. Chris Meza, Antonio Ruiz and Derik Silva added single goals for Shenandoah Valley.
Ethan Lebo scored both goals for the Vikings (1-2, 1-2). Collin Berger assisted on Lebo’s first score; Christian Davis assisted on the second goal.
Xzavion Tennis made 20 saves for Williams Valley; Caleb Campos had five saves for the Blue Devils.
Girls’ Soccer
Tamaqua 1, Northern Lehigh 0
SLATINGTON — Sophia Sitlinger converted a penalty kick at 69:08 and Tamaqua held on to defeat Northern Lehigh in a non-league match.
Tamaqua (2-1) started five freshmen and played four other ninth-graders in the victory.
Ceanna Gormley made 13 saves to preserve her first varsity shutout for the Blue Raiders. Yana Holva made 10 saves for the Bulldogs (1-3).
Tamaqua led 10-7 in shots and 6-3 in corner kicks.
Lehighton 4, Minersville 1
MINERSVILLE — Sadie Monk netted a pair of goals to lift Lehighton over Minersville in a non-league match.
Claire Bridy added a goal and an assist for the Indians (2-2), who led 1-0 at halftime.
Hope Motuk, assisted by Jenna Cullen, scored for the Miners (4-1).
Bella Rizzardi made nine saves for Minersville; Cassidy Litts stopped six shots for Lehighton.
Southern Columbia 3, Schuylkill Haven 2 (OT)
SCHUYLKILL HAVEN — I. Helwig had a hat trick, including the game-winning goal in overtime, as Southern Columbia edged Schuylkill Haven in non-league action at Rotary Field.
Kylie Siket and Taylor Haag netted one goal apiece for the Hurricanes (3-1).
The teams played a scoreless first half.
Ally Becker made 13 saves for Schuylkill Haven; Martino denied 14 shots for the Tigers.
