SAINT CLAIR — Tri-Valley’s ground game was clicking on all cylinders Friday night.
Sophomore running back Parker Hatter rushed for 130 yards and three touchdowns as the Bulldogs downed Nativity 42-13 in a Schuylkill-Colonial Blue Division game at Saint Clair Veterans Memorial Stadium.
Cole Gemberling ran for 117 yards and added a pair of long touchdown runs as Tri-Valley (3-1, 2-1 Blue) finished with 293 yards rushing, picking up 14 first downs.
“Our backs are so quick and our offensive line did a great job creating the holes for them to run.” Tri-Valley coach Jeff Sampson said. “Parker picked up a good amount of the shorter yards, while Cole had those two big plays, so it is nice to have options.”
The Dawgs’ first score came from Hatter on a 4-yard touchdown run. After an interception grab by Remington Klinger in the second quarter, Tri-Valley upped its lead to 14-0 on a 5-yard run by Hatter.
Gemberling’s first touchdown came on a 57-yard run that gave the Bulldogs a 21-0 halftime lead.

Tri-Valley expanded its lead to 28-0 to open the second half on a 14-yard run by quarterback Trey Porter.
After the play Porter’s momentum from running took him all the way through the end zone, where he slipped on the macadam and fell underneath a parked van. He laid there for a minute before jumping up and running over to the sideline.
“I am feeling alright after slipping on the macadam, I couldn’t slow down,” Porter said. “After it happened I just laid there for a moment but got right up.
“I was just very hyped about the touchdown and I was not going to let it put me down.”
Sampson breathed a sigh of relief for his quarterback.
“My heart sank when it happened, but he got up and I felt relieved,” Sampson said.
Gemberling’s second score, on a 34-yard TD run, put Tri-Valley up in the third quarter.
Nativity ended Tri-Valley’s bid for a second straight shutout with a pair of fourth-quarter scores. Colt Mason scored on a 35-yard touchdown and Liam Garrity caught a 27-yard touchdown pass from freshman Cole Felty.
