HS Soccer: Minersville boys blank Devils in Division II battle

Minersville 4, Shenandoah Valley 0
MINERSVILLE — Dylan Haslam made eight saves to earn a shutout in Minersville’s Division II win over Shenandoah Valley. After a 1-2 start this season, the Miners (7-3, 3-2 D-II) have won 6-of-7 matches.
Chase Zimerofsky led the offense for Minersville with two goals and one assist. His goal, assisted by Aidan Ryan, gave the Miners a 1-0 lead at halftime.
Shane Fessler added one goal and one assist for Minersville, and Collin Kadingo netted the final goal of the day for the Miners.
Caleb Campos stopped 12 shots for the Blue Devils (6-5, 3-2).
Schuylkill Haven 3, Williams Valley 1
SCHUYLKILL HAVEN — Landon Bayer scored a pair of goals, and Grayson Fessler assisted on all three for the Hurricanes in a Division II victory over Williams Valley. Schuylkill Haven (4-4, 4-1 D-II) has won three in a row.
Bruce Stine also netted a goal for Schuylkill Haven, which led 1-0 at halftime.
John Rautzahn scored a goal on a penalty kick for Williams Valley (1-7, 1-4) to cut the deficit to 2-1 in the second half, but Bayer connected on his second goal to give the Hurricanes some insurance. Schuylkill Haven outshot the Vikings 14-4.
Elliot Wehr made three saves for Schuylkill Haven; Xzavion Tennis stopped 11 shots for Williams Valley.
North Schuylkill 1, Tamaqua 0
TAMAQUA — Evan Damiter scored on a Wesley Urban assist in the seventh minute, and North Schuylkill made that one goal stand up in a Division I victory over Tamaqua (1-7, 1-4 D-I).
Braiden Davis stopped six shots to post the shutout for North Schuylkill (3-5, 3-3).
Pottsville 8, Marian 0
HOMETOWN — Landon Trout made 11 saves to notch the shutout in goal and scored a goal himself to help Pottsville defeat Marian in a Division I match.
Brody Hess scored two goals for the Crimson Tide (3-4-1, 2-3 D-I), who led 1-0 at halftime.
Juan Moreno, Jayden Hossler, Brogan Rooney, Malachi Kollie and Chase Richter added one goal apiece for Pottsville.
Damien Gall made 30 saves for Marian (0-8, 0-5).
Pine Grove 1, Palmerton 0
PALMERTON — Pine Grove (9-2) earned a non-league win over the Blue Bombers (1-8) to clinch a spot in the District 11 Class AA playoffs. No other details were reported.
