Tuesday’s girls’ volleyball results

Panther Valley 3, Pottsville 1

LANSFORD — Round 1 goes to Panther Valley.

Morgan Orsulak piled up 28 kills, 16 assists, 13 service points, two aces and two digs to lead Panther Valley past Pottsville 25-23, 15-25, 25-19, 25-21 on Tuesday in a Schuylkill League Division I girls’ volleyball first-place showdown.

JaeLynn Browdy added nine kills, 25 assists, eight service points and five digs, while Caroline Breslin compiled seven kills, three blocks, 14 service points, six aces and 14 digs for the Panthers (8-0, 7-0 D-I). Others stepping up for Panther Valley included Jessica Hackash with five kills, four blocks and six digs; Madeline Schirer with 11 digs; Kathryn Breslin with 13 digs; and Emma Borger with nine digs.

For Pottsville (6-4, 5-2), Maggie Brennan had seven digs, six aces and five kills; Ava Schwartz added six kills, 10 blocks and 12 digs; and Rhyan Brennan contributed 12 digs, four kills, five blocks and two aces.

Pottsville won JV 2-0.

Blue Mountain 3, North Schuylkill 0

FOUNTAIN SPRINGS — Jaedyn Bartholomew racked up 13 kills, 19 digs and three aces to lead Blue Mountain past North Schuylkill 25-11, 25-17, 28-26 in a Division I match.

Piper Reinhart added three kills and three blocks, while Alexa Marshall notched 10 kills, 24 digs and one ace for the Eagles (8-2, 5-2 D-I).

For the Spartans (2-5, 2-5), Brigid Flynn had seven digs, five kills and two aces; Kyla Carado posted seven kills and three blocks; Lyza Holmes made 29 digs; Emily Walsh chipped in seven kills and three blocks; Carissa Ossman made seven digs; and Carrah Hill had six digs.

Blue Mountain won JV 2-0.

Mahanoy Area 3, Tamaqua 0

MAHANOY CITY — Naomi Kowalick had 10 kills and three aces to lead Mahanoy Area past Tamaqua 27-25, 25-17, 25-16 in a Division I match.

Hailey Mroczka added 15 digs and two kills, while Samantha Price dished out 23 assists for the Golden Bears (6-4, 3-4 D-I).

Mahanoy Area won JV 2-0.

Tri-Valley 3, Minersville 0

HEGINS — Faith Melocheck had nine kills, three aces and two digs as Tri-Valley swept Minersville 25-12, 25-11, 25-8 in Division II action.

Liv Lupole hit eight kills and four aces, while Lexi Lesher and Emma Moore added five kills apiece for the Bulldogs (10-0, 7-0 D-II).

For the Miners (1-11, 1-6), Arianna John had three blocks and two kills; Caty Ilsley added four blocks and two kills; and Aliyah Webster made nine digs.

Tri-Valley won JV 2-0.

Nativity 3, Williams Valley 0

POTTSVILLE — Addisan Ricard compiled 22 assists, three aces, three kills and eight digs to spark Nativity past Williams Valley 25-15, 25-22, 25-11 in a Division II match.

Finley McNamara added seven kills and seven digs; Lily Baran hit five kills; and Morgan Howell notched 18 digs and four aces for Nativity (5-4, 5-2 D-II).

Nativity won JV 2-1.

Marian 3, Weatherly 0

HOMETOWN — Marian (7-2, 6-1 D-II) swept Weatherly 25-8, 25-8, 25-8 in a Division II match.

For the Wreckers (1-9, 0-7), Abby Weston had nine assists and two digs; Kelly Reiner compiled seven digs, two service points and two kills; and Mya Binder chipped in four service points and six digs.

Shenandoah Valley 3, Schuylkill Haven 0

SHENANDOAH — Ava Antz compiled six kills, three blocks, two assists, six digs, six aces and nine service points to propel Shenandoah Valley past Schuylkill Haven 25-17, 25-19, 25-22 in a Division II match.

Brianna Tufts added 15 digs, and Brittany Tufts had seven assists, six digs and four service points for the Blue Devils (4-5, 4-4 D-II).

For Schuylkill Haven (2-6, 2-5), Makayla Koller had 13 digs and three aces; Hailey Keppley notched 12 digs and three aces; and Grace Line posted 15 digs and four aces.

Schuylkill Haven won JV 2-1.
