SHENANDOAH — Williams Valley wasted no time reminding Shenandoah Valley and the area why it sits near the top of the District 11 Class AA picture.
Williams Valley exploded for nearly 500 yards of total offense and cruised to a 55-6 victory over Shenandoah Valley in Schuylkill-Colonial Blue Division game Friday night at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
“I thought the kids up front blocked really well and Fletcher (Thompson) ran the ball really hard,” Williams Valley coach Ben Ancheff said. “(Brady) Shomper added some nice passes.”
The Vikings (8-1, 7-1 Blue) scored on their first three possessions and led 21-0 after one quarter, sparked by a pair of touchdown runs from Fletcher Thompson that included a 94-yard burst that broke the game wide open.
Quarterback Brady Shomper was sharp through the air, tossing touchdown passes of 50 and 38 yards in the first half to Evan Achenbach and Colin Crisswell as Williams Valley took a 34-0 lead into halftime. He also added a 14-yard rushing score.
